| The Grammys - and I forgot my camera! | ||
What’s up people and thanks for loggin on once again. After quite a subdued January things have begun to heat up quite literally. I have never really been a politically minded person and tend to keep my views to myself, though just about everyone seems to have an opinion about the war in Iraq. Just before the coalition set off, MTV and Downing Street came up with the idea of a forum whereby Tony Blair would be confronted by 40 young people from around the globe and yours truly would host it. Let me tell you that I didn‘t get much sleep the night before what was to be an historic occasion for MTV. The Prime Minister looked very tired but was gracious and stayed behind after the debate for over half an hour chatting and taking pictures. As you may know the MTV lick show celebrated 5 years on air with a series of ongoing celebrations. We have already done parties in Norway and a huge one in Denmark where local Hip Hop act Outlandish completely smashed it (as you can see I enjoyed myself a little too much as well!) Next stop is Amsterdam and then a double header in London and Leeds as the finale. Over fifty lick parties and enjoyed just about all of them. On the subject of parties, Glasgow truly represented in March when I played the first ever RnB gig at the world famous Arches to a packed house (check the gallery) On the TV front, BBC3 kindly flew me to this years Grammy awards in New York to host their coverage of the event. All the usual suspects were present: P.Diddy, Usher, Fat Joe, India Aire, Ja Rule & Ashanti, Timberlake etc. It was particularly nice to bump into Floetry, two South London girls that were nominated for an award for songwriting. It was my first trip to the Grammy’s and it won’t be my last, I’m hooked but pissed off that I left my camera, so the website is the loser. |
