| Well to say it has been a crazy month is a huge understatement. I’ve just completed filming a new show for BBC3 called Fightbox coming to your screens in the autumn. It’s a virtual reality game show where contestants get the chance to design their own warrior and then battle it out in the gladiator ring. It really has been a mad couple of weeks doing the show alongside my lovely co-host Lisa Snowdon. The heat wave has arrived just in time for Notting Hill Carnival. This year I will be doing a special one off night at Funky Buddha in Mayfair, London on the 24th august. The night will be broadcast live on radio1 and promises to be a steamy affair. I will be dipping my toe in my collection and pulling out some gems from the Old Skool. So if you like your 70’s and 80’s then get your tickets now for "carnival classics". I will also be doing a student carnival jam for Red Hot at London’s Equinox on the 25th august. Talking of old skool I recently played at a club called Worldheadquaters in Newcastle and I’ve finally found my spiritual home where you can play Gil Scott Heron alongside Beyonce. It’s the ultimate Djing experience for me right now, like being back at the Africa Centre in the Soul II Soul days. Check the gig guide in the coming months, as I will definitely be making room in the diary to play there again. I did my first gig of the season in Ayia Napa at Club Ice and I have to say I had my concerns about the scene over there this year but the night was awesome, great crowd enjoying good music. I will be back over there on the 26th August, so if your in Cyprus come and check me. This month I celebrated 1Xtra’s birthday Djing alongside DJ Diggz at his club, Level in Bristol. Another great night of good music. I have to say that July has been a great month for gigs particularly with my new penchant for playing smaller clubs. Make sure you check the gallery out for club shots from the booth. It’s been quite slow on the music tip this month with only the Bad Boys II soundtrack really getting rinsed on my car stereo. Personally I think we’re all waiting for the new project from the Neptunes, The Clones. Well that’s it for now, keep logging on. Peace. |
