First I would like to wish everyone a happy New Year, my motto is as long as the New Year is better than the old then everything will be cool.
I didn’t have such a great end to last year as the huge party we had planned at the dome was pulled at the last minute by the police who decided at 24 hours notice that due to an incident at the venue a week earlier (someone else’s party) they had no confidence in the club to hold our event. Obviously we were hugely disappointed especially as most of the ticket holders had no way of knowing and had probably booked hotels etc. If you bought a ticket for this event you should be able to get a full refund from the outlet. The same thing happened with our final lick party at the equinox in London when an incident at Turnmills 5 miles away and two weeks earlier caused the cancellation of my party. To be fair the authorities say that its in the interests of public safety and of course that is paramount in my mind, but it just pisses me off that they have the power to cancel any gig they like if they believe there might be a chance however small of trouble. I don’t see them cancelling that many football matches in this country.

On a happier note we had a good night at the Isis club in Nottingham with Dodge and Spoony, it was proper, a lot of classics were dropped, a lot of jd drunk and a mysterious girl in a red dress was still on the dance floor when the cleaners were in.

Hope you guys took part or had a chance to see or hear the rhythm nation top 50 albums of the last decade, thanx to everyone who voted. I wasn’t too surprised with the top ten as they were all huge sellers. My biggest shock was the poor showing of Mary J Blige who just scrapped inside the fifty. If you wanna check the list catch it on the website ( coming soon) and see just how many albums you’ve got.

Great news for mtv lick fans, we start filming the new show in late February. It will be different to the old one, as we shall be filming on location, which normally means anywhere in the UK and possibly abroad, you know I like to travel. Some filming may be done in Ibiza as I am looking at doing a full season out there for the first time this summer. Can’t say where it will be yet as the deal hasn’t been done. aaaaaaa
